I was under the impression that our licensing status did not permit usage of applications in this case.
No reply from our account manager, can anyone here answer this?

RE: Overage on product for which we are not licensed

[quote userid="850586" url="~/products/licensing/f/licensing-and-activation-forum/156336/overage-on-product-for-which-we-are-not-licensed/466422"]If our site key is being used, and the product is in Trial mode, then when the Trial runs out, what keeps the product from simply operating and causing a license overage?
I apologize for the delayed response on your follow-up question! Because your site utilizes SELECT Open Access, your main site activation key has access to licenses for most of our portfolio. Consequently, all products will activate and will not display trial messages. To restrict which products can activate, I recommend creating a Custom Activation Group with only the products you own or intend to lease. Then configure all workstations to use the Custom Activation Group so that any other products will produce trial messages.

RE: Overage on product for which we are not licensed

When a site in your organization uses a product you do not own, the first 30 days of usage ever reported is considered an evaluation period and is not counted for billing purposes as your representative stated. However, please exercise caution with this. The 30-day evaluation period begins when the first engineer at one of your sites starts using it. The evaluation period is organization-wide and does not restart when other engineers start using the product. Therefore, if you intend to evaluate a product free of charge, arrange for engineers to evaluate it together.

RE: Overage on product for which we are not licensed

R.K. He says "If you download a product that you don’t own, you can use it trial mode for 30 days, free of charge. If you continue to use it after that, it will incur a term license charge."

RE: Overage on product for which we are not licensed

R.K.
