I've had a look on the site for an answer to this and I'm coming up with nada. Am I missing something simple, or is Bentley intent on having me manually plug in the site activation key and server name on every machine?

Steven,

I did not see the headings you are talking about in the help file. Which help file would this be in? I was looking in the MicroStation XM microstation.chm help file.

Thanks

Thanks Steven,

I knew there must have been a simpler way!

That'll teach me for not reading to the last page of my documentation. :)

I've made sure there are no spaces in either the server name or activation key and we are still getting the same errors. I think it's less MicroStation License Management Tool and more something on, or to do with, the server where the SELECTserver resides, as, while I've been testing it, connectivity appears to be patchy at best.

I'll move any future questions regarding this to the "Licensing with SELECT Server" community.

Thanks again,

There is a detailed description in the help file; look in the contents under the heading "Installation and Configuration" you will find "Workstation Configuration Using Group Policies".

The test connection button simply performs a ping against the server to make sure the client machine can see it. If it is unable to load the license, make sure there are no spaces after the activation key (I presume it was copied and pasted so it is correct -might want to verify it if it was typed).

We have a dedicated forum and community for SELECTserver. Please visit us at "SELECTserver and Product Activation":
http://communities.bentley.com/products/licensing/default.aspx
