Hi,
is it possible (and how) to configure what langauge will be used in CONNECT Advisor GUI?
I have MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 11, English version, installed; no other language pack is installed. From some reason CONNECT Advisor is started with Czech GUI, which is awfully bad. Surprisingly, I have also MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 4) English installed and from V8i, CONNECT Advisor is started with English GUI.
With regards,
Jan
CONNECT Advisor uses the language of the consuming product it is launched from
if CA is launched from a Japanese MicroStation, CA would show Japanese UI
if CA is launched from a French MicroStation (or any other Bentley Product), CA would show French UI
if you see Czech GUI from Engish MicroStation, then this would be a defect.
CONNECT Advisor generates some diagnostic logs, that I can check to see what could be the issue
can you do the following
Thanks

Hi Nazeer,
e-mail with zip file attached sent to your bentley.com address.
Bentley Accredited Developer: iTwin Platform - AssociateLabyrinth Technology | dev.notes() | cad.point
I checked the logs at it seems like CA is using the same language as the OS on some versions, and on some versions it uses the product language.
Bentley Standard is : use the OS language for UI.
thanks for the details.

Which I hope will be classified as bug.

With all respect, there is no such standard. I know Bentley produces a lot of software and I do not know all (but after 30 years, quite a lot of them) and I am not aware about any such product:
Extending situation I used in my older e-mail:
Maybe it's some internal Bentley standard, but today software standard even for open source voluntary projects is that when possible, OS language is used for the installation and alternatively the first start also, but can be freely configured later (sometimes even without any restart).
It's weird that what is implemented in many open source software by people cannot be done by Bentley as professional software company...
Yes, issue is added as a bug and working with the localization and internationalization team to find best step moving forward
What was the outcome of this? Bentley Connect Advisor recently started opening in French, despite my OS and all installations being in English. It was installed with OpenRoads Designer.

as far as I remember, there was no other than information from Nazeer about logged bug.
But, it should be no problem anymore, because Advisor was canceled and is not installed anymore with MicroStation CE U16 and all products based on the same Power platform version (which applies to the latest ORD version) and the functionality has been migrated directly to CONNECTION Client.
It was not only crappy piece of software, miserably implemented, but above all wrongly designed: This people simply don't understand multi-language reality in some countries and some projects, where Windows, application and language abilities or preferences of a user can represent three different languages.

There is simple solution available: Find where Advisor is installed (should be in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bentley Shared\CONNECT Advisor\) and remove wrong language folder, which is "ft" in your case. Standard behavior of the most of software today is that when selected localization is not found, English is used.
