Group Entitlement Changes

The changes could take up to four hours since client machines automatically retrieve a new policy file every four hours when signed into CONNECTION Client. To apply changes immediately, end users can manually retrieve a new policy file with the following steps:

1. Open the Windows Start menu, type Bentley Licensing, and choose Bentley Licensing Tool from the results list.
2. In the window that appears, select Refresh Policy from the Tools menu.
3. Click the Sync button in the upper left corner denoted by circular arrows to update the list on the Entitlements tab.

If assigning a user to an Entitlement Group in User Management and then manually updating the policy file, please wait 15 minutes after assigning the user to ensure that it takes effect.

I've opened the licence management tool, under the tools tab I do not see a 'refresh policy' option. What to do now?

I have been trying to find out how the entitlements work, I created a group with no entitlements to see how it works, I put myself in that group, it took around a day to come into effect. Once I saw that I removed myself from that group yesterday [longer than four hours] and my entitlements have not come back. Which is why I ask how long does it take to filter down.

Please open the Bentley Licensing Tool instead as it includes the Refresh Policy option as shown below.

The License Management Tool configures Bentley products using our SELECTserver licensing system, whereas the Bentley Licensing Tool configures the latest Bentley products using our new CONNECT Licensing system. Manually refreshing the policy should expedite your testing efforts. I also recommend referring to the following instructions for setting up entitlement groups.
