We use the Select Quarterly Plan. We have one license we share between multiple employees. Isnt the Bentley program suppose to prevent users from using the software at the same time so we do not have excess usage? How are employees in a company supposed to know if someone else is using the software at that time? It does not seem realistic to expect employees to go around to several other employees to see if they are using it. Please let me know if I am missing something, it seems like a very basic step that would save customers a lot of money and grief.

I think you just answered your own question there Lindsey.
I've been calling since October 24th about an overage charge. I finally called a salesman that I had contact info on and got an answer as we we're remoting into one computer that had WaterCad on it. One user left his session running. Another user remoted in and opened a second session and then we had an Overage. If you remote in, here's how to shut down an open session.
I agree with you. Why is it allowing a second user in if you only have one license?
No, you are not missing anything. It's the most backwards software policy ever that ONLY benefits Bentley and their bottom line. We are in the exactly same boat as you. We have a Bentley user email list that we use to alert everyone that I am entering the software. Upon exiting the software we send out another email. Its not perfect but it works....most of the time.
If we weren't forced to use their software due to their foothold in the transportation world we definitely would NOT be using it.
as said in an other discussion here: I seriously think its not even legal to charge that way. I highly recommend to check with our legal department to claim an illegal form of "profiteering" in this method used by Bentley. It cant be legal to charge a customer 100% more due to several minutes if overusage, especially if u cant really deactivate that mess. Would be good if other follow this claim to do some pressure on this practise.
Hello Lindsey, I was searching about the same issue you reported and found this wiki that discuss how to warn users before they exceed a Administrator . And I thought that you might be interested in it as well. Wiki Link : communities.bentley.com/.../how-to-enable-and-configure-license-alerting
