Connect Advisor will not stay off no matter what I do with settings. It stays off 1 or 2 sessions, maybe til next boot. What is the file (xml?) I need to edit to get this "feature" to not turn on unless I want it.
This current version of Connect is still buggy as a month old apple. I've given up with service tickets, it's just too much. If I was younger I'd switch CAD programs for sure.
Hi Bob,
If you have the authorization to, use the Windows Control Panel to uninstall the Connect Advisor.

The file that appears to store these settings (based on observing its behaviour just now) is "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Bentley\AdvisoryService\v0.8\UserSettings.sqlite".
Try deleting this file (or renaming its extension) so a new one is created and see if the behaviour continues to vary.

I confirm same behavior here. I can't get connect advisor to stay off no matter what I do. It slows down booting of connect edition and general workflow as everything halts while connect advisor loads and initiates. It's practically malware, and unfortunately the only way around is to completely uninstall it.
I'll add that it's too bad, because trying to access the learn server through a web interface is like having your teeth pulled. Everything is so terribly slow that the user simply gives up.

That didn't work. Much like Connection Client remembering my password, booting Windows seems to reset something. And I boot a lot. Does Linux or Mac work any better?
