CA 10.1.0.233
Connect Advisor will not stay off no matter what I do with settings. It stays off 1 or 2 sessions, maybe til next boot. What is the file (xml?) I need to edit to get this "feature" to not turn on unless I want it.
This current version of Connect is still buggy as a month old apple. I've given up with service tickets, it's just too much. If I was younger I'd switch CAD programs for sure.
I confirm same behavior here. I can't get connect advisor to stay off no matter what I do. It slows down booting of connect edition and general workflow as everything halts while connect advisor loads and initiates. It's practically malware, and unfortunately the only way around is to completely uninstall it.
I'll add that it's too bad, because trying to access the learn server through a web interface is like having your teeth pulled. Everything is so terribly slow that the user simply gives up.
I believe a solution was provided in the past. The answer was counter-intuitive, but it has work (for me at least). I think that once Connect Advisor is loaded, you go to settings (or preferences?) and there are two items to tweak. One, uncheck the "auto open" option, then two, check the toggle to use the "saved" configuration. Finally, "save" that configuration. Exit the advisor and microstation, then try to fire mircostation up again.
Yes, that works sort of. After booting Windows, CA will sometimes reappear with default settings. It's a bug, but I'm sure it's all on Microsoft. Only true solution is to live with the Bentley bug or simply uninstall it.

Like so, clicking the 'Save Current Settings' button is the critical step in this sequence:
