CONNECTION Client problems with NetMotion (VPN) in work from home setups

We are running into issues with the CONNECTION Client authenticating through NetMotion locally on the laptops that are being used by employees while working from home. The CC will not work on the local laptop but when they Remote into their work desktop, it will work just fine on that machine, but still not work on the laptop.

Our organization is Federated through Bentley IMS, so the usernames and passwords are not an issue. My users are receiving the "This page can't be displayed" error after entering their email address and never prompted for their password. This error occurs prior to the Windows Authentication dialog appearing.

We have tried upgrading / downgrading the CC, complete uninstall / reinstall and even having ProjectWise prompt us for logging in. We are receiving the error on both Windows 7 and Windows 10 Enterprise platforms.

What specific address or ports need to be opened in the firewall's for the CC to license and work properly?

PC Specifics:
Windows 7 & 10 Enterprise
CONNECTION Client 10.00.18.13 and higher
NetMotion 11.51.04204 and 11.71

Thank you for helping out.

  • The same problem was faced by the employees of our company. We could have used the internet, but as soon as we turned on the VPN, the internet connection was lost. We called many IT professionals who could not understand the problem, and one day one of the experts said that the VPN we use is not suitable for our computers. And he advised us to try another VPN. Our managers have read a huge number of articles about the best VPN of 2021. Our company needs the best VPN, because our computers store a lot of priceless personal information that should not fall into the hands of the enemy. So we made a choice and decided to choose pinpointvpn.com.
