The latest version of CC doesn't retain the user name for logging in, which means that I have to type my email address in each time. I seem to recall that older versions did this, so this is a step back.
This isn't due to the CONNECTION Client, it is an issue with the new Identity Management System. The problem is being looked into. As a colleague it affects me too so I understand what you are experiencing.

If you can, revert to cc10. I suspected 11 was not up to snuff, though it's released it's not showing up as an update in the application itself.
