Hello all,
I got a new PC and my IT guy installed MicroStation V8i (SS4) on it and now when I open MicroStation, it says I have 6 days remaining within its licensed period, so I chose the I already have an account and entered my credential and activation ID and all that stuff and it recognized it and accepted and proceeded to the next dialog window and a few more in during the Product Activation Wizard, it asks me "Would you like to check out a license to your computer (machine)? and below it is a checkbox that says "Use checked out license". So I checked that and it has 3 more fields to enter in. First is email address, the second is a dropdown to select which Product Name, which I entered MicroStation, and the last is Product Version which has 4 horizontal boxes to enter in digits. And I don't know which 4 digits to enter in there..... Can someone please assist in this standstill point I am trying to get through?? Thanks so much in advance. This community has been so welcoming and helpful and just wanted to let you know I truly appreciate the help every time I need something.

That looks as if your IT folks didn't set you up to the license server. I'd get back on them to make sure everything is connected and functioning properly. If you didn't have to check out a license before, you shouldn't have to do it now.

I was assuming I have a license. I was just under the impression it worked similar to an Autodesk account. So below you can see it says licensed to and all that good stuff. Maybe it's just asking for the year? Not sure. I'll try something.

Maybe you just need to send your Activation or licensing logs?
There's also a licensing forum: https://communities.bentley.com/products/licensing/f/licensing-and-activation-forum
I know. I've read them all. Makes me want to throw up how disgusted I am to have to try this hard to get some simple number required during an install that a million other people have already done. I don't understand the logic of it. Why can't it be something static and everyone knows it. But we all know out Product Version number as the 08.11.09.829 and not some 4 digit number. ughhhhh........sorry. upsets me
geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezus. So I went to enter in a 4 digit number just to see what happens and when I selected to enter in the first of the 4 boxes, it let's me enter more than one number, so clearly I can enter in 08 09 11 829.
Well at least that's out the way,,
