Connection Client

I tried to update Connection client within the Connection Client dashboard.  It would hang there for a minute or two and then would just say "installation is cancelled".  So I downloaded it from the program download directory online.  After a re-boot, I opened Connection Client and it was able to open properly.  I then tried to download updates to some of the structural programs which were recommended, but the same hang up and cancellation happened to those programs.  Please help.
