I set up a SS User Usage by Day report which gets delivered to my e-mail as a pdf file. I had been able to open them. Lately, however, I get an Adobe Reader error: "There was an error opening this document. The root object is missing or invalid." I'm using Reader 9.2, which I've reinstalled. I can open other pdfs just fine w/ Reader 9.2. Did the report generation mechanism change somehow?
Nothing has changed on the PDF generator in SELECTserver. I have the newest PDF reader and it works for me. Does any of the previous PDFs still open? Are you using a windows computer to view these or some other device like IOS or Android? I see some chatter about some problems with the IOS getting this error message when opening PDFs. Does this open on another machine?
Using an older WinXP system. Yes, I can open older PDFs (just tried one from 9/9/13 and 11/4/13)). As another test, I saved the pdf file and used raster manager to try to view it in a DGN. Got this messdage: An error occurred in the PDF library (Error code: 29. Error messages: Expected a number objects) - (8074). If ustn is using and Adobe dlls, maybe I need to remove Reader and then manually deleting anything Adobe left on the disk before reinstalling?
A few question that come to my mind,
- Are you using Deployed or Hosted SELECTserver?
- Have you tried to get the same report from the SELECTserver administrative page? to what result?
- Do you recieve PDF from other Web site by email?
