SELECTserver Interactive LEARN Session - Wednesday, May 21st

I would like to inform the SELECTserver and Product Activation community that on Wednesday, May 21st I will be available here as a Domain Expert. This means that I will be LIVE in the community from 8 AM - 5 PM PDT (UTC -07:00) answering questions you have about all things related to topics covered in this community. During that time, I will:

  • Look at support solutions and add and update information that will help you.
  • Post answers to questions in the forum.
  • Verify answers in the forum.

I also plan to be available via Instant Message through Bentley Communities, although it would be better to have information posted publicly. That way others can benefit from any exchanges.

My Be Communities profile is up-to-date with my background and experience; so I encourage you to visit it. I encourage you to update your own profile as well.

I am looking forward to answering your questions and providing as much help as I can that relates to this community on Wednesday, May 21st. I will "see" you then!

How do we limit license check outs via the SELECTserver to only the amount we have paid for. We are a small firm and cannot afford more licenses than what we currently have setup. The current "Trust" licensing scheme is not a good scheme for us as it is allowing us, without warning i might add, to go over our allotted licenses resulting in quarterly invoices from Bentley that we have not budgeted for.

    Thanks

SELECTserver is primarily a usage reporting tool, but the following support solution provides a suggested workflow that mimics the old checkout behavior of RAM and STAAD products. Notification of overuse once detected can also be used to make adjustments as quickly as possible since the first three occurrences are overlooked.
