Introduction

By default, SELECTserver utilizes an Internet connection to update the license file and transmit usage logs. However, SELECTserver can be configured to function in a secure environment with no Internet connection. Although much of the installation and operation of SELECTserver will be identical to an Internet-connected installation, this support solution will highlight the differences.

Steps to perform

The following support solution provides steps for installing SELECTserver.

In the "Import a license file" section, options are described for retrieving licenses. Choose the option to import the licenses from a file. Bentley's technical support team must generate an XML license file for you. Transfer the file to your server, and load it using the Browse button.

Proceed through the rest of the installation steps to complete the setup of your SELECTserver.

In order to continue functioning, SELECTserver must transmit usage logs at least once every 30 days to Bentley. In a secure environment with no Internet connection, the transmission process must be done manually.
