How to enable the chromium option in CONNECTION Client

Important: This article applies to installations of CONNECTION Client from 10.00.19.24 - 11.00.01.109 only. Versions 10.00.18.25 and earlier utilize Internet Explorer exclusively, and versions 11.00.02.16 and later utilize Microsoft Edge exclusively. The registry key described below has no affect in versions outside the range of 10.00.19.24 - 11.00.01.109.

You can force the CONNECTION Client to use a different internal web browser.

*Please note: You do not have to install a web browser, but will need to make a registry edit, which requires administrator access.  This is possible with CONNECTION Client version 10.0.19.24 (or later).

    • Click on the ‘Search’ button in Windows and type “regedit” into the search pane.
    • Open the Registry Editor application
    • Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bentley\CONNECTIONclient
    • Add a new string value (REG_SZ) named UseChromium with a value of True

    • Quit CONNECTION Client and open it back up
    • You should be able to sign in
