What is an Allocation Group (Reporting Group)?
Allocation Groups are special groups in User Management that have been created to enhance Subscription Analytics. Also called Reporting Groups, they offer an easy way to organize users and applications in your reports: product usage is associated with the Allocation group based on the users assigned to it or the activation keys that are mapped to the group at the time the usage is processed.
Can I add my user to several Allocation Groups?
There is a restriction that a user can only be a member of one allocation group at a time and the system will stop you if you attempt to violate that rule. You can make any group that you may already have an Allocation Group as long as it does not violate this restriction.
Currently, you must create Allocation Groups one at a time. The ability to bulk create groups will be available in the future.
Can I use Allocation Groups to track excess usage?
Please note that Allocation groups are not designed to and cannot be used to track excess usage.
