Bentley products rely upon several Microsoft technologies that are not developed by us. While we may provide support for common situations, our knowledge of non-Bentley technologies will be limited. Consequently, technical support may recommend contacting Microsoft if the root cause is determined to be a Microsoft component and our knowledge of such components has been exhausted. Below are specific examples.
Version 11.00.02.xx and later now utilizes Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime for the sign-in process. Some environments encounter problems installing this component or applying automatic updates successfully, affecting CONNECTION Client. If the root cause is determined to be Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, further assistance may be needed by Microsoft and/or your IT group.
Deployed instances of SELECTserver utilize Microsoft SQL Server for the creation and use of a license database. We have limited database administration knowledge, so we may defer to a database administrator if you have one. As an alternative, we strongly recommend utilizing our hosted SELECTserver (i.e. selectserver.bentley.com) instead which eliminates the database administration requirement.
