Client Check In and Out Instructions for XM and Higher [TN]

Overview

There are two reasons for checking out a license.

1. You are a Non-SELECT user and License Check-Out is required in order to activate.

Check out interval for a Non-SELECT user is defaulted to 365 days

2. You are a SELECT user with limited or no internet/network connection.

From the client computer, you can manage the license check in and out from the License Management Tool.

Check Out

Depending on the version of the License Management Tool installed with your application will determine what you see when you first launch the tool.  In the earlier versions, you are automatically placed into the License Checkout screen, in new versions you have to click on the License Checkout Tab.

 08.09.xx.xx and older

 08.11.xx.xx and newer

Once in the License Checkout dialog:

a. Highlight the product in the top box.

b. Select a Check Out Expiration Date from the drop down.  A license can be checked out up to the expiration of the SELECT Contract, or up to 5 years if the site is Non-SELECT.

c. Click the CheckOut Button.


This will launch the Checkout Settings dialog Box, in the Checkout Settings Dialog:

a. Enter your Email Address.

b. Enter the version number, if it did not auto-populate.

c. Click OK. 

You should receive a message stating the Checkout was successful. Click Ok.

Then the Checked-Out license will move to the bottom box.

Check In

1. The Checked-Out license will appear in the bottom box.

2. Highlight the product in the bottom box.

3. Click CheckIn.

After 24 hours the license can be issued again for another maximum 365 days.
