When attempting to upgrade CONNECTION Client 11.00.05.42 to a later version, installation fails with the following error:

Explanation

A bug was discovered in this version that prevents updates from being installed from within CONNECTION Client. The bug was severe enough to necessitate pulling version 11.00.05.42 and replacing it with 11.00.05.43.

How to Avoid

Please perform the following steps to manually apply a CONNECTION Client update to restore the in-product update functionality:

1. Right-click on the Windows Start menu, and select Run from the contextual menu.
2. Execute the following command, including quotes:
   "%UserProfile%\BentleyDownloads"
3. Locate the latest installer beginning with the name setup_connectionclientx64. It should have a version of 11.00.05.43 or later - start that installer, there is no need to uninstall the previous version.
