Just recently we installed Bentley Connect Client (10.00.12.08) and with it comes the Bentley Licensing Tool. Preferences of CC are set to automatically sign in & minimize.
Now each morning after starting up my brandnew computer, it starts to make quite some noise. In Taskmanager I see two processes responsible for keeping my laptop busy:
Killing the Bentley process automatically eases down the Local Security process. But I suppose Bentley is not happy if we kill the tool, (or uninstall the Connection client altogether, which some users do to get rid of this frustration)
How to avoid this annoying issue?
Regards,
Yvonne
The elevated processor usage issue you described with the Bentley Licensing Service is not affecting everyone equally. To determine what is causing the issue in your case, please perform the following steps:
@ Jeremy: Sorry for the delay; I just uploaded the zipped logfiles you asked for 2 weeks ago.
Thank you for the logs. I examined them and noticed that the logs for the Bentley Licensing Service are composed entirely of a single error message that is repeating thousands of times per second, hence the elevated processor usage. As Glenn mentioned, the next release of CONNECTION Client is incorporating a change that should help.
Hi Jeremy/Glenn
Which version of CC will have this fixed ie the version number and when?
HI - We don't have a final build number yet as it is still being tested, but it should be available this week.
Thanks,
Glenn
Good to know. We have the similar resource problem in our office.
