What is the purpose of this information?
Please be advised that there will be a required security update on Saturday, September 5, between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. (EDT) for our Subscription Entitlement services. While it is not a requirement to do so, we also strongly recommend that you update your CONNECTION Client to 10.00.19.31 so you maintain the latest security updates.
However, if you need more time to execute the upgrade, to ensure your workflows remain uninterrupted, please instruct your users to do the following two steps:
You will be able to continue on your current version until you can update your CONNECTION Client to the latest version.
What are the details of this issue?
Older versions of the Subscription Entitlement license client that are left running during the update will begin to fail to return valid entitlements for your products. This will display a “No Entitlement” message when starting a product:
As indicated, if you wish to avoid this scenario, please update your CONNECTION Client to version 10.00.19.31.

Unable to update the CONNECTION Client?
The Entitlement error can be avoided by signing off from your machine over the weekend. Signing back in after the weekend will allow the security update to transfer down to the license client at startup.
If needed, restart the Bentley Licensing service on the local machine. This will happen if the machine is rebooted, but can also be achieved by executing the following steps:
1. Open Windows Task Manager and find “Bentley.Licensing.Service for Windows” background service.
2. Right-click on that service and choose End task.
3. From the Start Menu, open the Bentley Licensing Tool (sign in to the CONNECTION Client if you are not already signed in).
4. Go to Tools\Refresh Policy.
5. The Entitlements tab should show valid entitlements for the products you’ve run before.
