LEARNserver Courses
The Using and Editing Terrain Learning Path covers building proposed terrain (mostly). Some additional building-from-survey material is available in Survey Learning Paths.
Most courses are clearly-titled and narrowly-focused, allowing easy Self-Service (pick what appeals to you).
Using and Editing Terrain Modeling is a fundamentally important course but could use some clarification. It is essentially three separate courses (which would make browsing easier):
- View Techniques (some additional techniques not covered in the QuickStart - interesting but not critical)
- Building Terrain from Graphics - this is the essence of how Terrains work.
- Importing By Element
- Importing By Graphical Filter
- Adding and Modifying Features
- Troubleshooting: Locating and Correcting Crossing Features and Conflicting Points (Not “Analyzing” which is vague)
- Creating Complex Terrain Models (merging surfaces): this is the only topic in this course that, say, drainage engineers need to know how to do. It should be a standalone course. There is a YouTube Video (see below)).
