MicroStation Basics for New Users - Chapter 7: Manipulating Elements
One of the more common tools are the Copy and Move tools. Almost everything drawn throughout the design process at some point needs to be moved or copied. After watching this video you will be able to move and copy existing elements in your designs.
Elements often need to be moved or copied parallel to their existing locations. The Move Parallel tool is designed to offset geometry. After watching this video you will be able to move or copy parallel elements dynamically or with a specific offset.
Mirroring elements or groups of elements based upon a horizontal, vertical or user defined line is a commonly used workflow in a design. After watching this video you will be able to mirror elements based on varied mirror directions.
Another common command needed in designs is the Rotate command. After watching this video you will be able to change any elements angle based on a defined angle or interactively via two or three points.
Elements often need to have their size adjusted. This can be done via the Scale command. In this video you will learn to use the Scale tool in a variety of ways, via the elements center and using a scale factor or interactively.
Array is used to copy an element (or group of elements) many times to create a rectangular or polar (circular) array, or an array along a path element. In this video you will use Array to quickly construct various types of arrays.
In MicroStation there are various tools to allow for the manipulations of elements. The Stretch tool allows you to extend or shorten elements by moving the end points and vertices that lie within a fence. In this video you will learn how to modify geometry using the Stretch tool.
