In SS3, you would design a profile in the Profile view window then Import it back to the GPK file for safe keeping. When you design a new profile for an alignment in the Profile window, select the profile and hover your mouse over it. On the Contextual Tool Palette select the Active Profile tool to make the newly designed profile the active profile.

Now that have the profile how do I assign it to the alignment. the alignment already have one , but it needs to be change wit a new one.

yes, I just did not realized that the profiles would be linked to the horizontal alignment. I have about 20 side streets therefor 20 chains,

it was buried in there. thank you. ( I hit the panic button to quick) .

You will need to Navigate to the Task Navigation > Civil Tools > General Geometry tab.

Locate the Import Geometry tool.

Select your GPK file

Select a profile to associate with a Chain (This will toggle on the profile, Chain, Feature (NoFeature), Alignment and Path)

Toggle on Create Civil Rules

Click the Import button.

You will have to set a Feature Definition and make the Profile Active, but after that you can use the Vertical Geometry tools to Manipulate or project the profile to other elements.
