FDOT SS10 Draw Profile not recognizing Profile Cells

I have had to go back to an SS10 project and am attempting to place a new profile cell. When I hit the anchor button in the Draw Profile window, I get a Bentley error screen and then the PowerGeopak Problem Notification saying an exception has been logged.

Perhaps its due to some VBA or MDL Application? I have also been having issues with my Function Keys not working. For example, F4 typically gives you 4 views, but I haven't been able to get that to work.

Thanks

  • Zach,

    I think these might be two unrelated issues, but both should be fixable.

    The Draw Profile crash sounds like either a GEOPAK resource file issue or a UPF issue. Try closing FDOTSS10 and running Workspace Doctor with all options enabled.

    For the VBA issue, try this:

    1. Exit FDOTSS10, and any other forms of Bentley MicroStation product.
    2. See if the following file exists:
      1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Bentley Shared\GEOPAK\08.11.09\BentleyControls.ocx
    3. If not, see if you can find that file anywhere and use that path below
    4. If so, open a command prompt As Administrator (in the windows search bar type command, right click on the command prompt app and select “run as administrator”)
    5. Key in the following two commands exactly as shown below (or with the alternate path), spacing matters (do not include “a.” and “b.”):
      1. Regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Bentley Shared\GEOPAK\08.11.09\BentleyControls.ocx"
      2. Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Bentley Shared\GEOPAK\08.11.09\BentleyControls.ocx"
    6. Then open FDOTSS10 again and see if you can configure the bar menu, or check LDM to see if the issue is resolved.

    If that does not work, try this:

    Try this first, you will need to have admin user privileges,

    1. In the Windows search field on the task bar, enter “CMD” to locate the command prompt, right-click and select “Run As Administrator”
    2. Enter this command: REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64\FM20.DLL
    3. Close the command window and launch FDOTSS10 to see if the issue is resolved.

    Failing that, try this:

    1. In the Windows search field on the task bar, enter “CMD” to locate the command prompt, right-click and select “Run As Administrator”
    2. Enter this command: REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\FM20.DLL
    3. Close the command window and launch FDOTSS10 to see if the issue is resolved.

    If all of those fail to resolve the VBA issue, then it might be an installation issue:

    1. Uninstall FDOTSS10
    2. Uninstall Power GEOPAK
    3. Re-install Power GEOPAK while making sure to right-click on the installer EXE and selecting "Run As Administrator" to launch the installer
    4. Re-install FDOTSS10.

  • Thanks Matt, I ended up having to just uninstall/reinstall to fix the issue. Everything is working fine now except I keep getting this message for some reason:

    That file and folder are not marked as read-only, and I have admin privileges. Is there a fix for this?

    Thanks

  • I ended up having to go here: C:\FDOTSS10\Workspace\Users

    Right-click on FDOTSS10.ucf -> Properties

    Security Tab -> Edit...

    Select Users and Allow Write Permissions

    Even though I am an admin, I still had to do this and the notification went away.
