Changing the Civil Cell refrances elements

I was wondering, Is there a way to the elements that a civil cell is referencing?  I have a right turn cell that is referencing an EOP.  I updated and drew a new EOP.  Is there a way to change it an make it reference the new EOP?

  • Yes, there are two ways you can do it, both accomplishing the same thing. Change an Elements Reference lets you do exactly what you want. You select the tool, then the element you want to move. You will now see the current reference element highlighted. Now click the new reference element you want to use. It will now attach to the new element at the same offset and length, so if your new EOP is in a different place, your cell will move, but you can just adjust it back to where it needs to go.

The other tool is Move Elements to New Reference. This works slightly different in that you select the tool, the select the current REFERENCE element. Then select the new REFERENCE element. This will move anything referenced to the original element to the new element. Handy when you have multiple lines you want to move. Again, it maintains the same offset and length parameters.

One very important thing to remember when doing either is never delete your current reference element until you have created your new reference element and moved your elements onto the new one.
