Is there a way to remove station equation station prefix or suffix to none in Connect ORD? Another similar concern is the ability to move PC/PT locations to prevent overlap?

See screen snip below for information.

  • You are going need to need to modify the Annotation Definitions in the Annotation Group for the Centerline Feature Defintion. You would modify those definitions in the file where your Centerline is drawn, typically your ALGNRD file. You can modify existing definitions within the group or create your own new ones.

Typically these definitions refer to a standard FDOT Text Favorite. I have created my own Text Favorite dgnlib so that I can make my own text favorites and set them up the way I want. Then you simply replace their text favorite with yours in the Annotation Definition.

Once you have gotten your definitions within that group the way you want them, you can export the entire group to an xml, which can later be imported into a different file if needed,

  • Thanks Zach.  I've been messing with the Groups and Feature definitions and Feature symbologies quite a bit.  Overall tweaks to favorites or groups don't seem to be ideal depending on the situation.  I can only assume to remove labels from the group and place them manually as a dynamic text label.  I'm also noticing text size issues and difficulty adjusting something as simple as text size of Major stations and Cardinal Stations. Text styles used for the two seem correct regarding size/font, but still come out the wrong size.   I'm not sure if this goes back to how the favorite was made or what.

  • I believe you can use an element template to override a text favorite's settings and symbology.

  • Thanks Chuck.  It appears the element templates are for traditional symbology related to the feature style used.  My research has indicated two new dialogs in Connect for editing annotation... however changes to the Annotation Group Manager are blanket overall feature group controls.  Within Annotation Groups Manager, I can change these attributes and whatever "Text Favorite" assigned to them in the Text Favorite Manager, however this doesn't isolate the overlap.  The only solution to my question appears to be a removal of the label in question from the Annotation Group (e.g. PT/PC "Cardnal Station Labels" ), having it place a line only and figuring out a way to place them via the Place Label tool.   This should be a very straight forward concern across the production community.  Additional questions were raised in this process:  Is there a way to place alignment text similar to Geopak DDB that can be modified (e.g. labels moved/relocated) similar to how we could after they were placed by the Geopak's D&C manager?   Below are a few additions to the FDOT library to facilitate a side by side alignment forcing cardinal stations lt or rt of the alignments.  As my image above indicates, this will not work for the short pc/pt segments where we find the overlap.
