Is it possible to do a plus or minus symbol in Microstation Truetype font?

Has anyone used the FDOT font in Openroads Designer Connect Edition? When ever the characters "fi" "ff" "fl" in lowercase, they disappear entirely, and do not print.
This is a particular issue with this font, as it only occurs in Openroads Designer Connect Edition, and only when the characters are lower case.
Who ever created this font FDOT (I assume Florida DOT) should correct it as this font issue will amplify when the design community has completely embraced ORD Connect.
This issue is to with ligature glyph.
I have heard some discussion about this, so I believe this is an issue we are aware of. This will be corrected before we release a workspace for ORD Connect Edition.

At IL Tollway and IDOT, we are using FDOT font due to the symbols. A corrected font will be much appreciated so we can update the workspace.
Have you looked at the Engineering TTF delivered with ORD?
