Is it possible to do a plus or minus symbol in Microstation Truetype font?
Bob,
Hi, I work at Illinois DOT & we are using FDOT fonts. Recently, a designer noticed that _ disappears when placed as text. I figured out that the file sees it as a data field. We have data fields not displayed or printed as a default because we use them in our sheet cells. I told him that he could bring it in through Axiom & it works fine or he could turn underline on for only those characters & get pretty close to the same result but he doesn't want to use those methods. We use _ for a lot of our GEOPAK elements, chains & profiles, which we list on the sheets so field staff knows which chains they should be using so it would be really helpful if we could figure it out. Do you know of a way to correct this so that the _ will show up without the rest of the data fields being turned on?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Sincerely,

I think that is a workable solution but the designer doesn't. We ended up adding the symbol U+2581:LOWER ONE EIGHTH BLOCK to favorites & inserting it in place of the _.
