SS4 will convert files?

The SS4 version of GEOPAK required a change to the "Civil Model" in order to provide the ability transfer data directly with Trimble Business Center. In order for existing files to be opened they must be converted to the new Civil Model or database structure. This is a one way conversion and there is no way to open a converted file in SS3 again.


This conversion requirement only applies to files that contain element drawn using the new Open Roads technology. This means most files will not be affected. It will primarily be DSGN, GKLN, RDXS, and GDTM files.

Is there a way to convert civil geometry into regular microstation geomtry? In other words, just get those smart SS4 lines and arcs and downgrade them to SS2 format.

You can use the FDOT Menubar > Design Apps > Custom Line Style > Clear Embedded Line Styles tool.
