FDOT Connect with Project Wise

We recently installed FDOTConnect for OpenRoads Designer and haven't had any issues. However, once we use a workset within Projectwise we are unable to create files through the FDOT create file. We use ORD with Project wise in multiple other states successfully. Is it possible to use Project wise without creating dgns outside of Projectwise? Are they other issues I should know by using Projectwise?

Thanks for the assistance.

  • Josh, Just to add a note here, but would also like to understand your current installed setup.  Are you keeping all projects in the same Worksets location pointed to during the FDOTConnect installer process?  Curious if you've been working on your dgns within that same location prior to trying your aforementioned ProjectWise attempt.  FDOT's Connect workspace "create workset" function within ORD hasn't seemed to work well when worksets are made outside of their default install folder (i.e. {driveletter}:/Worksets, etc).  Attempting to create to a location other than where their installer was set would cause many issues with their ribbon tools.  What seemed to work for us to relocate our project working files was the _USTN_WORKSETDGNS = variable and copying the project workset folders it created over to that location (the project cfg and dgnws would remain and not copied).  Maybe there's a way to incorporate that into your ProjectWise configuration after the workset is created outside of ProjectWise.  In theory, QC and create file would better be used in a non-ProjectWise location only used for CADD managers or CADD Leads who can run those tools independently.  Proceed with caution regarding "creating files from scratch", as they would cause many compliancy woes within FDOT's new workspace and QC.  New dgn files created with FDOT's create file tool incorporate per discipline standards (levels, models, etc) based on the file being made.
