How do I set Microstation Manager to see the directory where my .pcf files reside?
That is normally set during the install when prompted for a Projects directory. If that was defined incorrectly during the install or the directory changes you can manually modify it. It is stored in the Registry and in a Windows Environment Variable.
To change the environment variable in Windows 7:
1. Right click on “Computer” in the Start Menu and select Properties.
2. Select “Advanced system settings” on the Control Panel\System and Security\System page that opens.
3. On the System Properties dialog select the Advanced tab them click the Environment Variables button.
4. Select FDOT2010_PROJECTS in the System variables and click on the Edit button.
5. Change the Variable value as needed and click OK. (BE SURE TO INCLUDE A TRAILING BACKSLASH)
6. Back on the Environment Variables dialog click OK to save the changes and close down the remaining dialogs.
To change the Registry value in Windows 7:
1. Type regedit in the Start menu search field then right click on regedit.exe and select “Run as administrator”
2. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\FDOT\FDOT2010 key
3. Right click on FDOT2010_PROJECTS and select Modify
4. Enter the proper path (including trailing backslash) in the Edit String dialog then click OK.
5. Close the Registry Editor dialog.
