LDM for Clearing & Grubbing, Mowing & Litter, etc.

There are no automated Create New From Quantities for those pay items, so I guess the idea is those need to be created manually. I have a job where I end up with quite a few shapes for each of these items. So what i do is I use Quantity Manager to export an excel file for that pay item. I then copy the information from that sheet into the standard summary box sheet. This works for everything except the Area ID. The only thing I can think to do is flip through Quantity Manager and match the measurement to the Area ID. This can obviously become very tedious.

Does anyone have a better solution for quickly getting all the information in summary boxes that are not automatically created from Create New From Quantities?

Thanks

  • You are correct.  This summary box is not automated.  I do not have the logic in place to sort the quantities into the correct columns through LDM.  The best you can do is create the report from QM to help speed up the process of filling out the summary box template.  Just make sure that you get the C&G quantities into the correct column, Secondary Units (not quantity), make the total quantity 1, and total the AC in the Design Notes column.

ECSO has developed a style sheet that will bring in the begin/end stationing, area id, and the area.  Problem you are running into is that the FDOT area style sheet that QM is using is not the latest one from our office.

You need to copy the style sheets from the FDOT directory...  (this may be FDOTSS2, FDOTSS3 or FDOTSS4)

    ..\FDOTSS4\GEOPAK\comp_rpt\style_sheets\

TO the Bentley directory... (it's buried deep)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\PowerGEOPAK V8i (SELECTSeries 4)\PowerGEOPAK\Civil\classes\samples\standards\reports\

The path may be a little different depending on the install of your product until you get to the "GEOPAK" or "PowerGEOPAK" directory.  The example given is for PowerGEOPAK SS4.

This will most likely require admin rights so you may need to get your IT involved if you do not have access to Program Files (x86) directory.

Once you have the files copied over, you can use the FDOT Form 700-050-01 Area Computations CSV style sheet from the report list.

You can give me a call if you need assistance.  850-414-4751 or 866-374-3368 ext. 4751.
