Recently, it has been reported that Sheet Navigator has not been correctly reading the sheet number, description and road number fields in sheet borders that are rotated between 94.5 and 210 degrees. The problem has been identified by Sheet Navigator's developer who explains as follows:
"The sheet orientation issue is just an effect of the situation and not the cause. Once the sheet boundary is found, the sheet boundary range is scanned for text to determine the sheet orientation (search area image below). But no text at all is being found. This is because the sheet is a cell. If the sheet cell is dropped to base components, it works fine."
and additionally:
"It works on non-rotated sheets because the datafield search process has handling for complex elements."
Dropping the sheet cell from cell status should provide a temporary work-around for most users.
We expect to have a fix for this issue within the week. The fix will be posted here for everyone to download. You will need to unzip the zip file to the MDLAPPS folder of your FDOT2010 installation. If you have a Workstation installation of FDOT2010, this will be located in C:\FDOT2010\MDLAPPS. However, if you have a Client/Server installation, this folder will be located on your FDOT2010 Server in the folder FDOT2010\MDLAPPS. Simply unzip the contents of the zip file to this folder and overwrite the existing files. Restart Microstation and the issue will be resolved.
