Creating MicroStation Addins in C# with Visual Studio - A Step by Step Guide

This document contains a detailed, step by step guide in creating C# WPF Addins for MicroStation and ORD.

      PDF

The guide walks you through the following topics

    • Downloading the SDK
    • Using the Developers Shell
    • Accessing Delivered Examples
    • Debugging within MicroStation and/or projectwise
    • Building project with bmake.
    • Creating a C# WPF addin (non-dockable window)
    • Creating a dockable window
    • Creating a dockable toolbar
    • Taking over the tool settings (making a custom tool)

While the SDK documentation had some good examples, it still took me some time to figure out how to set up everything. Hopefully this guide will help others.

This zip file is the source code for everything the document goes through.
