Important notice about use of Bentley products in virtual environments

Use of Bentley Products in a Virtual Machine Environment. Use of Bentley Products for your organization’s internal production purposes only on a computer network, utilizing a virtual machine environment to enable concurrent multi-user access, and installation of properly licensed Bentley products on one or more virtual machines is subject to the following conditions:
1. Bentley Products are presently not certified for use in a virtual machine environment, and that you or your organization are solely responsible for testing and supporting Bentley Products for operation in a virtual machine environment.
2. The number of users that use a Bentley Product at your site (whether or not such use is made via a virtual machine) during any one interval shall not exceed the number of copies of such Product for which there are licenses at such site.
3. For each virtual machine on which Bentley Products are installed, product licensing must be activated with Bentley’s Subscription Entitlement Service or SELECTserver, to monitor usage of the Bentley Products via the virtual machine. Bentley’s Subscription Entitlement Service or SELECTserver shall be installed and maintained in a mode that recognizes each session started via virtual machine as requiring its own unique license.
4. The Bentley Products running from the virtual machine must be activated to Bentley’s Subscription Entitlement Service or SELECTserver, such that the virtual machine must accurately provide Bentley’s Subscription Entitlement Service or SELECTserver individual computer names or a means to accurately identify product sessions initiated from the virtual machine. You must continue to transmit to Bentley on a monthly basis true and accurate copies of the usage log files generated by Bentley’s Subscription Entitlement Service or SELECTserver.
5. You or your organization must, upon seven (7) days advance written notice by Bentley, permit reasonable inspection and copying of the usage log files by Bentley or a third-party auditor retained by Bentley at the offices of your organization during regular working hours.

Warranty Disclaimer. Bentley Products used in a virtual machine environment are excluded from the warranties described in Exhibit B of your organization’s SELECT Program Agreement.
No Technical Support. Bentley is under no obligation to provide you or your organization with the technical support services described in Exhibit A of your organizations SELECT Program Agreement for problems, errors or other operating difficulties caused by or related to use of Bentley Products in a virtual machine environment.
