unable to post blog articles

Hi,

is there a reason why non-admin members are unable to post blog articles in the Visualization Forum, or is this just a "bug " that will be fixed later?

And while I'm at it:  My blog entries is in a section called "Old Site Member Blogs".  The page where I expect to find a list of my Blog entries is totally useless - at least I can not access any of my articles from this page:  http://communities.bentley.com/other/old_site_member_blogs/peer_blogs/b/kurtss_blog/default.aspx

How am I supposed to navigate on this page?

If there is an "Old Site Member Blogs" area - where is the "New Site Member Area"?

Or maybe the question should be - where is the correct place to post a blog article (in my case most likely about visualization)?

That is something being looked into -- anyone logged in Be Communities member should be able to post an article in a community blog.

Good point... that is also being looked into.

There is explanation to the "Old..." entries under the More tab in the Be Communities FAQ.

In Be Communities, there are three primary "types" of blog articles:

    1. technology (i.e.product-related, subsystems, etc.)
    2. personal (i.e. relating to an event, situation, etc.)
    3. a little of both (i.e. how someone feels or thinks about specific technology)

For #1, that has the "best fit" in a Product community blog -- that sounds like what you are looking for. For the second, that should go in a personal blog. The last one is the tricky one... it could go in either, although it probably makes more sense in the personal blog. The good thing about this is that you can see the most recent blog posts either in a widget that summarizes current blog activity or through a simple search (which can be brought straight to you through RSS).

Okay, take a look at http://communities.bentley.com/other/old_site_member_blogs/default.aspx -- there are three "options" there. Any preference to which one(s) you would like to see on that landing zone?

  • Hmmm... not sure what to look for there...  three options...?

How do I easily navigate from that page to a list of my own blog articles?

  • You could take a look at this.

  • thanks, Phil - I see how I can find the latest article posted in my blog.

The problem is (was) that clicking on the link saying "Kurts 3d Blog" just takes you to an empty page.

But It looks like I've just found a fix for this problem:  I noticed that this page also had a "customize" tab on top of it, and that I was able to add widgets not only for my personal use - but the change seems to stick also after logging out!

Check to see if the articles list is visible now (I added the widget "Blog - Post List"):
