Hi,
both when creating a new post or answering an existing one using Advanced text editor, the tabs are not displayed, so it's not possible to attach a file and to check the post in the preview.
[Edited] Using the latest Firefox on Windows 8.1 64bit, IE tested quickly with the same result.
With regards,
Jan
Yes... you can use Insert media to attach a file (this is a change in the platform). We will put something in the blog regarding this as I expect others to have the same inquiry.
Hi Phil,
thanks for your fast answer.

Ok, it should work. I hope images will be not automatically downsized, sometimes it's useful to attach bigger image / screen capture and it's when the plain attachment was useful, because the original raw file was displayed.
And what about the preview? I have used it every time for last time check before a posting. My experience is I overlook sometimes typos in editor and found them in the preview mode.

When you insert an image, that will be linked to the original size image. So clicking on the image will render the original in your browser. Non-image files are different in that they should be attached to the post.

Have you tried using full-screen mode in the editor?

Sounds good, I will test it later.

Full-mode is not a replacement for the preview mode, at least because:
Missing preview is not the feature which will stop myself from using this web, but it's something I get used (not only on this web) and treat as useful.
Regards,
Thanks for the excellent constructive feedback and for your (very valid!) points. We are bringing this up as something to consider (not likely for the next Communities platform release, but for one after that).
