I was trying to download a form in the Geotechnical Wiki. I could log in with my email and SELECTservices password but I was not able to download the file. The link would go to a circular redirect. I called Bentley support and they said post your problem in the forums. I could not post in the forums because the forums never acknowledged I was logged in.
I tried several browsers. It was very frustrating trying to find a solution with no support.
I have used and posted in previous versions of the Bentley Communities.
I was taking a screenshot showing my profile to put in an email. I clicked through the settings noticing my screen name was missing. I do not know why the screen name was missing. I remember creating a screen name in the previous version of the communities. The site did not prompt to create a screen name. I could not post, download or join.
Adding a screen name to the profile allowed me to download the file I wanted to access without circular reference errors.
The experience makes me reluctant to use this site. Who do you contact when you cannot log in if Bentley support does not want to help?
Ouch. I am truly sorry to hear about that experience... it is NOT what is supposed to happen. If you would not mind, could you please send a private message to a Site Administrator with who you interacted with here so we can make sure they are aware of the proper way to handle situations like yours?
