Who Are Bentley’s Knowledge Executives?

Back in July this year this article http://communities.bentley.com/communities/other_communities/b/bentley_communities_blog/archive/2014/12/22/who-are-bentley-s-knowledge-executives mentioned that Knowledge Executives would be announced. Unless I have missed it I haven't seen the announcement. have there been any new Knowledge Executives? If so who are they?

With the loss to the communities of people like Phil Chouinard, there may not be many left to run any program.

    Agree :-(

There was a promise of a restart, but things have been very quiet since then.

In my opinion the problem is not only missing person(s), but primarily in not clear definition of the program itself, its concept and why Bentley should implement and maintain such activity. It's not easy question and I can see how other companies with similar programs balancing and changing conditions from time to time (but not every few months ;-) to better follow overall company direction and priorities. But at least they define, agree and announce what users and communities are treated as important and contributing.

  • There also has to be some benefit to the user Jan, a lot is expected with very little in return as was the case with the first iteration of KE.

  • All,

Bear is correct, there will be a "restart" as soon as we replace Phil/Tyler's position. We are actively searching and may have someone relatively soon. It will, however, take some time to get our replacement up to speed, so please continue to be patient as we WILL revisit this very important program!

  • Hi Kelly,

thanks for your information. I am a bit sceptical to believe anything will happen soon, because there is nobody for a year (at least). In world where things changes quickly even former dinosaurus like Microsoft, IBM or HP are able to react in month or so it's too slow process looking like a relic.

And as I wrote, I have not seen any clear definition what such program should focus on and how it can ensure win-win situation: Both benefits for Bentley (by force of better support provided by BeMVPs / KEs to Bentley customers) and also for BeMVPs / KEs. The last experiment year ago in a style "We are happy with you, so we will name you KE, and please do more and in different style (blogs, training sessions)" was very wrong and out of reality in my opinion.

    With regards,

    Jan

I believe that the term Knowledge Executive is over blown and conceited.  In contrast, the accolade Most Valued Professional (MVP) is used extensively in the software industry.  There's no point in having letters after one's name if nobody understands the significant of those letters. Knowledge Executive is an invention of Bentley Systems and, it seems, you have difficulty yourselves in explaining its nature.

Why not revert to the MVP programme, which is common currency?

  • Any news with this? Does Bentley have an update?
