Logging in takes me to the Home page

I have a bookmark in Chrome that takes me straight to the "Modelling and Visualization" forum. It works fine until I log in which then diverts to the BC Home page. I don't want to go to the Home page which is the reason fro the  bookmark. This use to work OK but now doesn't!!

Why have you changed this behavior?

  • Well it's now another 5 months on and the problem has still not been fixed. I'm guessing that Bentley don't see this as a problem and is very low on the 'to be fixed' list. Oh well!!
  • Is this going to be fixed?
  • I've given up on a fix, so I created a folder on my favorites bar and linked to the specific forums that I follow.
  • This issue is still on our radar but unfortunately a fix has proven to be quite difficult, as it involves multiple systems. Rest assure we still intend to address this and we do apologies for the inconvenience.

I concur with Bill's workaround. After signing in, open a saved bookmark. Of course, there will be times when you happen to forget to log in and are viewing a forum thread for example and would like to post a reply. In these case, you can copy the URL from your web browser address bar to clipboard, sign in, then paste the URL back in to the address bar. We realize that this is not ideal and will continue to seek a permanent solution.

    After signing in

Sign-in is the big hassle.  Bentley Systems web site is like no other.  The financial institutions I use on-line have normalised log-in procedures, and provide high security.

The Bentley Systems/Communities sign-in used to be similar, then something changed in early 2016.  Now, whichever community or bentley.com page I start on, I have to sign in using the clunky log-in process.  The log-in process used to return me to the original URL; now it doesn't.  I have to go through multiple mouse clicks and two modal dialogs to get to the URL I want to read or respond to.

Why does Bentley Systems' website behave differently to every other website I use?
