How do I post a comment on a WIKI?

How do I post a comment on a WIKI?

If I push the button for "Questions about this article, topic, or product? Click here.", it takes me back to the Communities page.

Thanks,

Brian L.

  • Hello Brian,

By "Communities page" do you mean the homepage (communities.bentley.com), or the list of forums for that community?

The button you refer to should direct you to the appropriate Product Community forum, where you can post your question or comment. This is the best channel for this, as the forums are monitored by Bentley as well as users. If needed you can refer to the URL of the wiki article of interest in your forum post.

If you have an example case where the button does not take you to the appropriate forum, can you please provide a link? That way we can investigate and also direct you to the appropriate forum for the product you're using.

  • Yes, the Product Community forum.

So you are saying that if I want to comment on a Wiki I have to start a whole new thread?

So what is referred to at the bottom of the Wki's were it says, 'please confine any comments you have on this Wiki entry to this "Comments or Corrections?" section'?

    Brian L.

  • Hi Brian,

Right, the forum is the place to ask questions about or suggest improvements/corrections to a wiki article.

The "Comments or Corrections?" section you mentioned exists in some, older legacy articles (we'll look into cleaning that up - thanks). In the past, we found that in the majority of cases, users used the Comments section to post a question or a problem. Wiki comments are not monitored like the forums are, so in most cases this caused the question to not receive a timely response.

So, in the interest of ensuring our users get the most timely response to their question, the Comment box was disabled for most Product Communities and the button was added, to direct you to the forum.
