Hi,
depedending on a browser used, serif or sans serif fonts are used in editor. Because the rest of web content is displayed with sans serif font family, editor should use the same font.
All tests done on WIndows 10 Pro 64bit with the latest browser versions:
And also see ugly space below test in Subject text box.
With regards,
Jan
Update: It seems it's time dependent: Without changing browser, logging out/in or whatever else, now with a new post in another forum, in Firefox fonts are sans serif (the correct one). Is it because continuing changes on server?

Hi Jesse,
serif fonts are back in Firefox and Google Chrome :-(
Hello Jan, I have not been able to reproduce this yet but we'll try some additional testing.
However, looking at your reply as posted above on the site, the font appears to be the same as previous replies.

The problem is that this issue seems to be quite unpredictable, but I am very sure it's server problem, not local one: The fonts changed from serif to sans serif, back to serif and yesteday again to sans serif without changing anything in browser configuration. In some situations it happened even during one long session without browser (Firefox typically) restart (start computer at morning, switch off evening).
Right now it seems to be ok, but I have to clear cache (again) completely.
