What's the matter with the forums at the moment.

There seems to be a problem with the forums at the moment. Apart from them being very slow they also don't shown the top 'bar' with the Home page link when logged in. The only way I could get to this page was to close Chrome (and Edge), start the browser using a shortcut and then hit About from the MicroStation page. I then could log in and write this post!!

  • Hello stuartw,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble. We have not heard of any other reports, and things seem to be working well for me. I tested on Chrome, Internet Explorer and with multiple accounts and computers. The "bar" with the homepage link, avatar, etc is appearing for me.

Can you provide any further details? -

    1) When you say that you started the browser using a "shortcut" what do you mean? A saved bookmark/favorite?

    2) By "MicroStation page", are you referring to somewhere within the MicroStation community?

    3) Can you provide a screenshot?

    4) Does pressing CTRL+F5 have any impact?

    5) Are you only experiencing the problem when starting at a Forum? Are you able to see and use the "sign in" button in the middle area of the Bentley Communities homepage?

    6) What browsers and versions are experiencing this problem? (latest version of Chrome and Edge?)

  • To answer your questions:

    1. Yes, a saved bookmark.

    2. MicroSation forum page - http://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/273

    3. See below   This is all I see!

    4. No.

    5. Yes, and yes I can get to the login page.

    6. Yes, s far as I know.

This has only started happening today (this evening) and is still a problem.

  • Hi Stuart,

We have found a potential cause of the problem you describe. There appears to be two different email addresses in our system for your account, causing a conflict. I have sent you an email - please reply to confirm which email address is correct so that we can correct this issue. Apologies for the inconvenience.

  • I have two email addresses on purpose which have worked fine for quite a number of years. I am quite happy with the arrangement and don't want to change it.

BTW the forums seem to be working OK today!!

  • Understood - I should clarify that the way the two email addresses are associated with both aspects of our single-sign-on system is not correct and needs to be fixed, so we need to determine which should be associated with which account. I will elaborate via email.
