After I delete my response to a thread, I continue to receive notifications of additions to that thread

Occasionally I advise a poster to move a post to a different thread.  If the poster takes my advice, I subsequently delete my response from the moved thread.  However, I continue to receive notifications about new posts to that thread.

For example, if someone posts a question about GIS to the MicroStation Forum, I may advise that person to move her thread to the Bentley Map Forum.  If I'm not interested in further responses, I'll delete my post advising the move.  However, I continue to receive notifications about that thread even though I don't want them.

  • Hello Jon,

When you reply to a thread, you are automatically subscribed to that thread. The act of deleting the post doesn't trigger you to be unsubscribed to the thread.

If you do not want to to receive email alerts to replies in cases like this, after replying to the thread, click the "more" button at the bottom of the original post in the thread, and click "turn reply notifications off".

How often do you find yourself directing other users like this? As a valuable member of the community and one of our "MVPs", we could consider making you a moderator.

    Once a month, perhaps.

Thanks, but no thanks: it's your show!
