Are there any techniques that can be used to do a better job of searching these forums? I have searched forums using a specific word that I know I have used in an earlier post (or even my name) and come up with nothing or next to nothing, or I get way, way too much - and often still not get the post I'm searching for.
If you are looking for just forum posts, have you tried using Google with a site: qualifier? For example, to find posts on AccuSnap in MicroStation V8i:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4SKPB_enUS324US324&q=site%3Acommunities.bentley.com%2Fforums+V8i+AccuSnap&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
You can use a similar technique for Wiki articles:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4SKPB_enUS324US324&q=site%3Acommunities.bentley.com%2Fwiki+V8i+AccuSnap&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
Create a Shortcut or a Favorite with the following url and all you will have to do is add the search text to the search box: http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Acommunities.bentley.com%2Fforums
For posts in which you participated: http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Acommunities.bentley.com%2Fforums%20Larry%20Whitt
Another good solution if you use RoboForm is to create a SearchCard.

Why should we have to go to Google when there's supposedly a Search function right here? Why doesn't the on-site Search box work?
