Where is the list of threads that I have started or responded to? In the old forums these use to be listed on the home page (IIRC) so I could very quickly get to these. Surely we don't have to set each of the threads as a favorite?

there is a 'my discussions' tab at each forum. There are all your threads listed in the context of this forum.
A global list (as previously) might be a good idea (in addition), I have some forums that I don't visit regulary, and might miss some answers or feedback.

I'm not seeing the 'my discussions' tab. I've just gone to the MicroStation v8i page (http://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/microstation_v8i/default.aspx) and the only tabs I get are Home, Blog, Forums, Files and Wiki. No My Discssions!
Please bring back the global list from the main Home page.

That is a subtle, yet distinct description... to point that out again, you must be in the Forum tab to see the "My discussions" tab.

Others have brought this up, and pointed out that with the new "everything-is-a-community" organization, seeing an all inclusive listing of all activity across the entire site is much less necessary now. If you do want something like that, then setting up an RSS feed is likely the best way to do it (although I believe that will be one of those "be careful what you wish for" kinds of things :)
The "MY STUFF" widget (available on a customized Home Page) offers some of that functionality. If the "MY STUFF" widget had a "Show pager" (like "Conversation List") it would provide a lot of that functionality. It would also need to resort and have an icon change to indicate new replies.
What is the purpose of the "SITE ACTIVITY" widget? It seems as though it should also perform some of this functionality.
Yes, it is... that is something that is a "known issue" right now and is being looked into.
