6. WIKI (or Support Solutions)

Wikis are an encyclopedia-by-collaboration and provide community members with the ability to form and refine its content. In wikis, community members can edit the content, including others' contributions, since it operates on a principle of collaborative trust. The term wiki actually comes from the word "wikiwiki," which means "fast" in the Hawaiian language. Note that in some areas of the site, the term "Support Solutions" refers to wikis, and in the Product communities, only Bentley colleagues can create or edit wiki content -- all other signed in members can comment on the wiki articles (or pages).

Some wikis provide members with the ability to edit the content of each topic from their own computer. Members can also create new content and change the organization of existing content using the same editor for forum posts and blog articles. At any time, contributors can conveniently view the Web page as it looks to others, including non-members, before and after changes they have made. It is not necessary to know HTML or perform work in HTML code, but the option does exist to use that if the member so chooses.

    Hello Morgan,

Technically not every community needs to have a wiki, blog and forum, although all of the "Product Communities" do. Product Communities all have at least one wiki, blog and forum covering certain Bentley products and product lines.
