Why does there seem to be no beginner's tutorials for unadulterated CONNECT? For us who are brand new to MicroStation V8i is irrelevant. At some point the V8i umbilical chord will have to be cut. I know I will get a lot of flack from V8i users...... but I shouldn't have to learn V8i before learning CONNECT. Maybe in 2019 MicroStation can move forward and leave the past behind (at least have that option for newbies).
If you go to our learning server you should be able to find training for new users for MicroStation Connect Edition without have to know J, V8 or V8i first.

honestly, to use LEARNserver is a nightmare. It's one from the worst server in terms of UX and structure I know and also very slow (slower is only documentation server, but it's fortunately simpler to use). No single UX or speed enhancement for years. I do not know any user who uses it, simply because it's confusing, especially for no native English speakers (maybe in English the terminology is cool, but for other people not).

It's awful in any language. Horribly slow. I don't know why Bentley don't just put all the videos on Youtube. Might encourage people to use the software.
