Customizing Plan Strips in Civil3d

I'm trying to follow the instructions on How to Customise Strips to change the plan strips on my project. The hatch colors update, and subsequently the legend function updates, but the plan strip does not update, no matter how i try to "set current" as the instructions suggest. How do I get the Hatches data to translate to the plan strip?

OGC Component Export function captures more than intended.

I am attempting to export and import a data entry profile, from one project to another. I go through the export component process as shown in the OGC Wiki. I get an .hbc file as an output.

When I go to the new project and use the import component button, I get the following errors. It seems to me like the component pack contains much more than what I selected. Why is this?

Civil3D Geology Interpretation keeps crashing.

I am attempting to follow the workflow for linear modeling at Workflows for modelling geology along linear routes with AutoCAD Civil 3D .

I reach a point where hatches are plotting in the profile views, but then trying to edit these profile views crash the program. The error I get is below.

Is trying to edit the geometry in the boundary profile views the issue?

Civil3D extension plots boreholes incorrectly?

Hello,

I'm a newcomer to Civil3D in general, but I've discovered what seems to be a bug in the way the boreholes get plotted. as seen below, both the borehole top of ground and the nearest contour agree they should be at 662.

I have a plot of boreholes and a surface contour extracted from LIDAR. Both agree when you open up properties for them, on the elevation they should be at, about 662 feet

When I turn to a side view, however, all the boreholes are floating in the air. I've got the civil3d xyz data from the top of the borehole below, and it says the z coordinate is about 3311.59 feet, where the surface below it is in the ballpark of the 662=700 feet even from the side (grey blob in the middle).

Is there some way I'm importing into civil3d incorrectly?

template studio cell text unreadable

Hello,

I'm going through templates in template studio, that were provided to me by another, with the goal of explaining in simple terms what the reports are reporting.

When I am in the template studio, the cells are incredibly hard to read, and there seems no way of expanding the text such that I can read it.

See image below for an example of what I'm talking about. [Range Data Text] is readable, but the column to the left is unreadable.

Any tips for quickly understanding what's in a report template?

OG Civil 3D Extension - Geological Interpretation

I am trying to build my 3D model, and I'm getting stuck with the geological interpretation manager. Is my workflow incorrect?

Openground Cloud tab> Asset Management> Strata. Then select the strata I want to create and model. They appear as surfaces on my drawing.
I click Openground Cloud tab>Interpretation>Create. I am asked to select an alignment, which I do, then click OK.
??? . Nothing happens. Things return to normal as if I had not taken step 2 at all. In the past I've had it ask me to pick the location for a cross section to be placed, and then it would create a cross section for me. It's not clear what's different.

Anyone have this issue? Is it just me?

excel filter by geological field description

Hello,

I'm trying to build an excel report showing all of the shear strength parameters, grouped by geology code. For many of the tables (Pocket Pen, Triaxial, Lab PP, etc.), there is a way to reference in the Field Geological Descriptions table and group by geology code, solving the problem. When I try to include insitu vane shear test data, however, the only parent tables I can access are the Location Details Table, meaning the in situ vane shear are always going to show all data regardless of geological code grouping presented.

I'm sure I could write a very fancy excel formula to filter manually against the known stratum layers, but it's hurting my brain in the case where there is more than one, instance of a geological code in a layer.

I've noticed SPT data can be grouped by geology code, but insitu vane shear can't. both are insitu tests. Is there any logic as to why this is?

where is unconfined compressive strength in the tables?

How do I merge projects in OpenGround?

I have a couple of projects imported that are for the same physical location and I'd like to merge the data into one project.

I am trying exporting data now, but I am concerned about data loss due to imperfect mappings. Is there an in-software transfer ability?

Why does my permanent accusnap settings keep disappearing with each click?

I've been having a problem with accusnap over the last few days. when I use a tool (seems like any tool) and enter a data click or anything on my keyboard, my standard accusnap setting is removed, along with any temp setting. Nothing is highlighted, and the setting seems to revert to a "nearest" snap as the default. If I go and reset the snap setting, say double clicking on intersection snaps, the next data click or tool selection will remove that selection from the accusnap menu.

My current work around is to reset my accusnap setting every time I need it, as it is effectively acting as if there is only temp settings, no "standard" settings.

I've been able to reset it a couple times by switching between tools, or setting the accusnap then switching tools, disabling accusnap entirely then renabling, or some combination of those. I haven't been able to figure out what exactly causes it to get fixed.

I also can't figure out what causes the settings to go away in the first place.

I'm going to try and screen capture a video next time I'm in the office, but I was curious if anyone has had this problem.
